I am looking to buy a new tractor in the 25PTO HP range. Any thoughts on Kubota L2600/L3000 or NH TC30 or Massey 1429/1433V? All the dealers in the area get great reviews from the locals. I have 11 acres and will use the tractor for mostly shredding and a little dirt work. I will be buying a FEL as well. I'd appreciate any thoughts--for and against--on the 3 brands.

thanks

You asked... so here is my two cents..
All three are decent tractors and will be able to do to the tasks and you mentioned that all the dealers get good reviews. From that it really comes down to two things that I can see. 1. being creature comforts......

MY TC33 has a seat then when sliding back also raises up and for me being 6'+ that is a nice feature. The seat also allows a swivel and lock feature 10 or 20 degrees either way, which is nice when doing brush hog or plow work.
It was these little things that put me over the top to go with the NH. I knew I was going to have this tractor for a very very long time and was willing to pay a little extra now for those creature comforts in the long run.

2. Price.... pending on your budget and attachments that are required ( and some nice to haves ) the prices vary between these tractors and you may be able to get one for less and then either save it or use the saving to buy other attachments.

3. If all the dealers get good reviews, have you met them all? stop in and talk to some.
I went to the one JD dealer that a friend recommended and I was not at all pleased with the dealer. when I talked with my friend he told me that it was not the same person he has dealt with ( Turned out to be the owners son I talked too and he didn't really care about much.

That being said , It is my two cents and I am sure you will probably get some other good advice from folks here to help you along.

Good Luck and let us know what you decide

I agree with wbowhunt. If you visit all three dealers and drive the tractors a favorite may emerge and your choice will be made. There is no substitute for actually driving them and comparing ergonomics and operational characteristics. Specs never tell the whole story, and no matter which one you buy somebody somewhere will tell you that you should have bought THEIR favorite brand. ....

The L-2500 and 3000 are discontinued and replaced by the 2800 and the 3400. You might be closer to the B-7800 for comparisons ....

Thanks for the info and advice. I have done a test-sit/drive, and that's when I eliminated JD. If they are all dependable machines, I guess it's time I start haggling to get the best price on each, and then decide. ....
